MAKING HOMEWORK BE FUN FOR KIDS

Actually, homework is simple and easy job. It can help us to grind intelligence for kids. But, if we don’t know the secret, it will be resentful and be a problem. How can we make it easy and fun?

1. Communicating with teacher

Something that may be forgotten is making communicate between us as parent and teacher. Sometimes we feel that homework is one problem, kids are the other problem, while we and teacher aren’t part of those problems. And the result is, homework will be problem for kids, parent, and also teacher. What should we do in order to get well communicating with teacher about homework?

· Find out whether our children get homework or not everyday

Actually, purpose of homework is to help in making good habit for kids in order to be study lover. As parent, we should to know whether teacher give homework or not and what their purpose is in giving that homework.

· Knowing how much they will spend time in doing homework

Too much time will make it be hard burden. We need to ask teacher about timing, so we can help our children managing their time in doing homework.

· Knowing how far we may help in doing homework

Some of us maybe will be angry if our children don’t do their homework. There will be a small war at home just because of it. But maybe, the other parent will do the homework themselves by imitating their kid’s writing. Of course, it is false. We need to know what teacher’s target is in giving homework, so we’ll know how far we may help in doing homework.

· Telling our kid’s custom to teacher

For example, if our children like drawing. We can tell the teacher about it. If it isn’t problem drawing homework’s book, we can make little creativity in making fun atmosphere to do homework.

2. Introspective our attitude

Whether we have bad temperament in handling their homework or not, whether we force our children to do their homework or not, whether we are angry and punish them if they don’t do their homework or not, whether we have good habit and attitude in helping them or not. Just introspective our attitude right now.

3. Preparing tools for doing homework

One of bad situation that is hated by kids if their parent force them to do homework but there aren’t tools for doing their homework or their tools aren’t in the right place. So, make sure that every tools have been ready to use to make them feel comfort.

4. Discussing what the most comfortable way in doing homework

Discuss with them and accept their ideas about when, where and how they will do their homework. Help them in managing their time to study and make simple rule when they study.

5. Grinding their responsibility

Homework is a responsibility. We have to grind them to do their homework themselves. It doesn’t matter how difficult it is. If they can’t do it, we may accompany them to their friend’s house for asking or doing their homework together.

6. Being good trainer

Doing homework will be fun for kids if their parent sit in their side. But we don’t need to accompany them until midnight. Just help and teach them to try answering their homework by their way. They may to ask. Our jobs just give direction, guide and help them to remember, never be player and don’t just be an audience.

7. Finding help

We aren't super parent that can do anything. If we can’t help in doing homework, don’t be shame in finding help.

8. Following the way in teacher’s teaching

Maybe, our children have more interest to teacher than us as parent. Teacher also have teaching skills and have more time in meeting our children . So, following and knowing the way they teach will make us be funnier people in helping them. Try to make education games, use our creativity to make doing homework be fun and enjoyable.
