Some people say that children who have high IQ is genius, and they who have low IQ is stupid. Is it right?
Based on physiology, IQ is mental ability in responding and solving problems such as mathematic, physic, history, etc. According to Dr. Arief Rahman, IQ is measurement of numeric ability, languages ability and dimension ability. Human have seven IQ’ dimension, such as, language, music, mathematic logic, visual, kinesthetic physic, social interpersonal and intra personal that is called Multiple Intelligence. There are three factors that be sign of IQ such as judgment, comprehension and reasoning.
How do we measure their IQ?
The experts have arranged standard of physiology test to measure their IQ. The result shows by score of IQ. Actually, IQ is to compare ability between mental age and chronology age. Someone is called genius if he / she can do questions that were made for someone older. For example, student of second grade is called genius if he / she can do examination for forth or fifth grade.
Series of IQ test just want to see ability in aritmatic test, verbal test, comprehension test, making decision test. Score of IQ just give little indicate of left brain ability. Based on it’ function, this brain identify something by symbols. But score of IQ test isn’t guarantee for success. Because the questions give test just their ability at school, not at real life. IQ just have 20% role for success. Some people have been success do all of IQ questions and got high score, but they’re failed in the real life.
IQ Score, talent and creativity
Victor serebriakoff and Dr. Steven langer explain that IQ score is just information for parent in choosing right school for kids and knowing their ability. Parent can use it in finding their talent. For making sure, we can measure their talent with aptitude test.
Are IQ and creativity have relationship?
Creativity is one of sigh that show IQ. Low score of IQ is followed by low of creativity. But high score of IQ is not always followed by high creativity. In other words, high score of IQ isn’t guarantee for high creativity.

Tips leaving kids safely at home
Accompanying by parent at home is special necessity for kids. But, sometimes we must to go and leave them at home. There are many ways leaving them without disturb their development.
1. Leaving them with someone.
a. With babysitter
• Do health selection
Make sure that our babysitter is healthy. Check her to doctor or laboratory.
• Do background selection
For safely, ask her identity card, know her address, her attitude, her education background, etc. Than give her rules in keeping our baby
b. With our family
Maybe we will feel more comfort or safer leaving our kids, but we should talk about their education at home. Especially, the way they will give education that maybe is different with us.
2. Making special program and schedule
Don’t forget to make clear and special programs and schedule for kids. For kids under 1 year , give them physic’ activities. Making schedule what time they get food, drink of milk, take a bath, etc.
3. Making sure that all of housework has been done
Don’t ask babysitter or our family to do our housework while they should keep our baby. Waking up earlier and do all of our housework before going to work.
4. Preparing some food
Don’t let kids and our babysitter feel so hungry when we go and don’t let them eat instant food that maybe dangerous for health.
5. Leaving our phone number
We should leave phone number that can be called, such as number of our hand phone, our family’ phone, police’ phone, ambulance’, etc. put it near telephone at home.
6. Keeping contact
Altough we are so busy, never let them without contact. Call them or babysitter and ask their condition, have they eat or not, etc.
7. Keeping good relation with our neighbor
If we have good relation with our neighbor, they will be care to our kids. They will help to contact us if something happen to our kids.

THE BEST TIME TO GRIND INTELLIGENCE
“Learning when we were young is like drawing on the stone, and learning when we have been old is like drawing on the water”.
But, when is the best time to learn?
Based on physiology, 6th up 12th years old is called schooling time or intellectual time. In their ages, a child is easier to be taught than before and after. Their development is so fast in many aspects, such as fisicly, mentality and intellectually.
Fisicly, motoric development has been coordinated well. Their activities have in harmony with their necessity or their necessity or their interesting. So, this is a best time to exercise their ability such as writing, drawing, typing, playing football, etc.
Mentality, the children start controlling their expression of emotion. This ability can be gotten by imitating. They begin understanding about religion.
Intellectually, they are able to react intellect stimulus and do tasks that need ability of intellectual or kognitive, such as reading, writing, and accounting.
Their languages are also growth up. They are able to communicate well and it is the best time to learn.
Ages and attitudes
- lower class
It is group of children in 6th up 10th years old. Their characters such as,
1. Health and achievement are in harmony. If they are healthy, they will get more achievement.
2. They begin obey to traditional rule games.
3. They like to praise themselves.
4. They like to compare their life with their friend’s life.
5. If they can’t solve a problem, they will think that the problem isn’t important
6. They want to get high score, it doesn’t matter whether it is proper or not.
- Higher class
It is group of children in 9th up 12th years old. Their character such as,
1. Realistic, want to know and want to learn.

MAKING KIDS BE SMART NOT ONLY IN THE WORLD, BUT ALSO IN HEAVEN
Almost all of mothers are dreaming smart kids who can be pride for their parent. It is a beautiful life if our children not only smart and be pride in the world, but also can be a nice friend in the heaven.
Having children who can do many things, solve their problems, have a nice attitude and can be good child is a great dream. But, sometimes many people will be proud if their children get nicest value at school. They will be sad if their children get lowest value besides their children are called idiot or stupid. As if, ranking or value is vision of their future. Is it right that high score at school making success?
According to Dr.Arief Rahman, chief of Harian Komisi Nasional Indonesia for UNICEF, intelligence is an ability to process knowledge until understanding differences, making priority list, solving problems, making connection, having strong memory, having ability to believe, holding principle etc.
Intelligence is divided into 3 parts,
- Spiritual intelligence (SI)
- Emotional intelligence (EI)
- Intellectual quotient (IQ)
Based on observation about human nerve, intelligence quotient make thinking logical, rational, and obey to rules. Emotional intelligence make thinking and knowing patterns of emotion, includes understanding and having sensitivity of emotion. Emotional intelligence must be had as terms to Intellectual quotient optimal. But IQ and EI haven’t could answer all problems of life. We need spiritual intelligence to optimal both of them. Because of SI, we think creatively, have vision to future and able to make rules. So, if we want to get children who have good IQ and EI, we should grind their SI.
Now, the question is, how can we grind their SI? We can do 2 steps,
- Obedience to God
As parent, we should have strong creed to God and strong obedience to rules of God. So, we can be example for our children and it is easy to get God’s help.
- Optimal and developing SI at school
Because house and school are education basis for success, we can optimal SI with keeping their potency to feel authority of God and follow the prophet, at home and also at school.
We should have love and smooth in teaching our children. We may give some critical but it may not destroy their confidence. If they make mistake, we may not hate them, we just hate their attitude.
We should grow their interesting about something. So, they don’t do it because of outside threat but based on their interesting. We also should have a good habit to be example for our children. We can train them with a beautiful habit such as singing, playing, talking, telling problems, etc. we show to our children that we also have good SI that can be imitated.
As parent, teacher and school environment also have important role in successful education, not only based on their high score but also attitude, religious, and activity of children in organization. School like that will have clear program and able to prepare facility all hobbies. So, we should be careful in looking for good education for our children.
We don’t need professor or smartest people for making our children be smart and have great attitude. We just need love, knowledge about how they learn, desire in spending time together, desire in looking for many ways to make them better, and make good cooperative with school and society.
They have many chances to make their future themselves. Our jobs as parent and teacher is optimal their SI.

Managing learning and playing time with them.
We don’t need formal atmosphere to play and learn with them. We can do that in their normal time. Anything can be tools in learning mathematic such as hanger, dolls, etc. We can do it anytime with spontan ideas. They’ll like surprise that come from their beloved parent.
Introspecting our feeling to mathematic
Sometimes we feel unconfident with our mathematics' ability, be afraid or maybe worry. This feeling may not be given to our children. The most important in growing their love to mathematic is by playing in relax situation at home to find mathematics' draft and make them enjoying mathematic. Using mathematics' draft every time, make them believe that mathematic is useful in our life.
Solving concentration problems.
It may be caused by our mistakes in teaching, make them lost their concentration and don’t give an attention to us. If they refuse to learn, find the other opportunity or just let them for a while. Try to find their interest, follow it and apply mathematic draft in the right time. Remember, don’t force them.
Playing is business for kids, so, let them play
Playing is same as working for them. There are many things that can be gotten by trial and error. Too much giving comment to what they do, will destroy their creativity. Just let them to play free.

MAKING HOMEWORK BE FUN FOR KIDS
Actually, homework is simple and easy job. It can help us to grind intelligence for kids. But, if we don’t know the secret, it will be resentful and be a problem. How can we make it easy and fun?
1. Communicating with teacher
Something that may be forgotten is making communicate between us as parent and teacher. Sometimes we feel that homework is one problem, kids are the other problem, while we and teacher aren’t part of those problems. And the result is, homework will be problem for kids, parent, and also teacher. What should we do in order to get well communicating with teacher about homework?
· Find out whether our children get homework or not everyday
Actually, purpose of homework is to help in making good habit for kids in order to be study lover. As parent, we should to know whether teacher give homework or not and what their purpose is in giving that homework.
· Knowing how much they will spend time in doing homework
Too much time will make it be hard burden. We need to ask teacher about timing, so we can help our children managing their time in doing homework.
· Knowing how far we may help in doing homework
Some of us maybe will be angry if our children don’t do their homework. There will be a small war at home just because of it. But maybe, the other parent will do the homework themselves by imitating their kid’s writing. Of course, it is false. We need to know what teacher’s target is in giving homework, so we’ll know how far we may help in doing homework.
· Telling our kid’s custom to teacher
For example, if our children like drawing. We can tell the teacher about it. If it isn’t problem drawing homework’s book, we can make little creativity in making fun atmosphere to do homework.
2. Introspective our attitude
Whether we have bad temperament in handling their homework or not, whether we force our children to do their homework or not, whether we are angry and punish them if they don’t do their homework or not, whether we have good habit and attitude in helping them or not. Just introspective our attitude right now.
3. Preparing tools for doing homework
One of bad situation that is hated by kids if their parent force them to do homework but there aren’t tools for doing their homework or their tools aren’t in the right place. So, make sure that every tools have been ready to use to make them feel comfort.
4. Discussing what the most comfortable way in doing homework
Discuss with them and accept their ideas about when, where and how they will do their homework. Help them in managing their time to study and make simple rule when they study.
5. Grinding their responsibility
Homework is a responsibility. We have to grind them to do their homework themselves. It doesn’t matter how difficult it is. If they can’t do it, we may accompany them to their friend’s house for asking or doing their homework together.
6. Being good trainer
Doing homework will be fun for kids if their parent sit in their side. But we don’t need to accompany them until midnight. Just help and teach them to try answering their homework by their way. They may to ask. Our jobs just give direction, guide and help them to remember, never be player and don’t just be an audience.
7. Finding help
We aren't super parent that can do anything. If we can’t help in doing homework, don’t be shame in finding help.
8. Following the way in teacher’s teaching
Maybe, our children have more interest to teacher than us as parent. Teacher also have teaching skills and have more time in meeting our children . So, following and knowing the way they teach will make us be funnier people in helping them. Try to make education games, use our creativity to make doing homework be fun and enjoyable.
